1. Acceptance of terms & purpose

These terms govern your use of Care-Linked. By using the site, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Care-Linked helps people discover care, household, well-being and financial support across Canada; it does not deliver or guarantee the listed services.

We may update these terms as the directory develops. The date above identifies the current version. Your statutory rights, including rights that cannot legally be waived, are not excluded by these terms. Our Privacy Policyexplains how personal information is handled.

2. Permitted personal & community use

Individuals, families, caregivers, social workers, case managers, hospital discharge planners and community advocates are welcome to browse, search, filter, bookmark, print and share individual listings for genuine personal, family or client-referral support. Professional referral work is permitted, including when performed as part of paid employment.

You may share links and reasonable excerpts of individual listings with attribution to Care-Linked, keeping source links and safety warnings intact. This permission does not extend to bulk copying, republishing the directory, building a competing dataset or selling our curated content. Contact us for permission for uses beyond these limits.

3. Service providers, credentials & due diligence

Provider listings are for individuals, businesses and non-profits that currently reside or operate in Canada and whose service personnel are legally authorized to work in Canada. Care-Linked is a local service directory, not an employment, immigration or visa-sponsorship service. Listings that seek overseas recruitment, job offers for immigration purposes or visa sponsorship, or that misrepresent residency or work authorization, may be hidden, removed or suspended without notice.

Care-Linked is a discovery and introduction directory connecting people across Canada with independent service providers, agencies, businesses, community non-profits and government programs. Services may include personal care, nursing, therapy, mental health support, home cleaning, property support, and financial, tax or benefit navigation. We are not an employer, employment agency, health care facility, home care agency, financial institution or tax consultancy, and do not provide professional advice or the listed services.

Provider profile information, including identity, experience, pricing, services, availability and claimed qualifications, is self-declared and unverified by Care-Linked. We do not verify legal names or right to work; certifications, diplomas or degrees (including PSW, HCA, CCA and CPR/First Aid); professional licences, provincial college registration or good standing; trade or cleaning qualifications; business registrations; accounting, tax preparation, financial planning or benefit-navigation credentials; liability insurance, bonding or WSIB/provincial workers’ compensation coverage. We do not conduct criminal, police or vulnerable sector checks, or verify references, past employment or reviews. Uploaded documents, a listing and a Premium subscription are not verification.

Service providers, agencies, businesses and community organizations are not employees, contractors or agents of Care-Linked. Any contract, payment, schedule, service standard or duty of care is directly between the client and the chosen provider. A directory category does not guarantee a provider’s legal status, qualifications, insurance, backup staffing or service quality.

You are responsible for your own due diligence before hiring anyone, allowing access to a home or vulnerable person, or sharing sensitive information. Ask for current government-issued photo identification; confirm qualifications with the issuing body and regulated professional standing through the relevant provincial public register; request appropriate current insurance, bonding and workers’ compensation clearance where applicable; request suitable police or vulnerable sector screening where lawful and appropriate; and contact at least two independent, verifiable references. Requirements differ by profession and province; confirm what applies to your arrangement.

A Care-Linked listing gives no authority to access your bank accounts, credit cards or CRA accounts. Never share passwords, PINs or security codes. Use official authorization processes for legitimate tax or benefit representation, and obtain independent legal and financial advice before granting a power of attorney or control over finances.

Take care at a first meeting: meet in a public place or with another adult present, do not share house keys or sensitive financial information at a first meeting, and stop communication if anything feels unsafe or inconsistent. Care-Linked is not an emergency service; call 911 for an emergency.

4. Intellectual property & compilation rights

To the extent protected by applicable law, Care-Linked reserves rights in its original summaries, written guidance, branding, design, and original selection and arrangement of directory content. The Care-Linked name and logo are brand identifiers; no licence to use them in a way that implies endorsement or affiliation is granted.

We do not claim ownership of government facts, program names, underlying eligibility rules, public-domain material or third-party content. Rights in provider submissions and official source materials remain with their respective owners. These terms do not override applicable copyright exceptions or other non-waivable rights.

5. Prohibited activities & directory harvesting

Except for the permitted uses above, applicable legal exceptions or our written permission, you must not bulk scrape, harvest, download, systematically extract or republish program, non-profit or provider directory content; resell our curated summaries or compilation; or use that content to build a competing directory or dataset.

You must not use automated or systematic extraction to ingest our directory content into AI or machine-learning training, fine-tuning, embeddings, retrieval datasets or commercial AI services without written permission. Do not bypass access controls, rate limits or applicable crawler restrictions, or reconstruct restricted datasets through repeated requests.

Ordinary search-engine crawling and indexing remain permitted where allowed by our crawler rules. This does not authorize AI training or bulk reuse. Accessibility tools and ordinary personal browsing are not prohibited. Do not impersonate others, submit misleading credentials, misuse contact details, send spam or interfere with the site.

6. Government & non-profit program information

Program summaries, eligibility information, application steps, documents and links are provided for convenience and may be incomplete or outdated. Official rules, funding and availability can change without notice. A search match is not confirmation of eligibility, approval, funding or entitlement.

Confirm current requirements and application procedures directly with the administering government body or organization through the official source. Official guidance takes precedence over our summaries. Listing a program does not imply government endorsement of Care-Linked or affiliation with the administering organization.

7. Liability & governing law

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Care-Linked does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, availability or suitability of listings and is not responsible for a third party’s conduct, competence, honesty, services, payments or decisions, or losses arising from arrangements made through the directory. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

These terms are governed by Ontario law and applicable federal Canadian law, subject to mandatory protections in your province or territory. Disputes may be brought before the competent courts of Ontario unless applicable law requires or permits otherwise.
